Hi,I have a dismounted public folder database which I need to delete.Everytime I try and delete it I can't because of various errors. Hi Terry, From your description, I guess that the Public Folder database file (EDB/STM file) has lost. You would like to remove the Public Folder database AD object through ESM (Exchange 2003) or EMC (Exchange 2007). If I am off base, please let me know. At this time, would you please let me know whether it is a single Exchange Server environment. If not, please describe your topology more detailed. In addition, please also let me know the Exchange Server Version. Regarding Exchange still has links to this public folder database, whether you mean that the Mailbox Database still points to the Public Folder Database object? I would like to explain that basically, we do not need to remove the Public Folder database AD object. You could move the database file path to another directory and mount database through ESM/EMC. Hi Mike,You are pretty much spot on with your description of my problem.It is indeed a single Exchange Server environment which has all the Exchange roles.Exchange Server Version: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Fully updated.What you are saying is sufficient for me to do, currently the existing (nonexistant) public folder database points to somewhere on the D: (which does not exist). I want to move it to a drive that does. Hi Terry, I have performed a local test on my lab to reproduce the issue. I encounter following error when attempting to move-databasepath: There are no source files under the path:E:\pfdb. Use the command Move-Databasepath -ConfigurationOnly in the Exchange Management Shell to set the new path in Active Directory only. If you encounter the same error, I would like to explain that it is normal because the original database file cannot be located. You should use ConfigurationOnly to set the new database path in AD for the Public Folder Database AD object. For example:move-databasepath "mb\second storage group\public folder database" -edbfilepath "c:\pfdb\public folder database.edb" -configurationonlyThanks, Mike

Mike,I ran the following command:Move-DatabasePath "EXCH-Server\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database" -edbfilepath "E:\Exchange Databases\Public Store\Public Folder Database.edb" -configurationonlyThis worked and I see the change now in Exchange Management Console. However, i still cannot mount the database. The folder I used above for the -edbfilepath is empty, do i need to create the "Public Folder Database.ebd" file myself?When I try to mount it through the Management console i get this error:--------------------------------------------------------Microsoft Exchange Error--------------------------------------------------------Failed to mount database 'Public Folder Database'. Hi Terry, 1. Would you please let me know whether the Second Storage Group has only the Public Folder database? 2. Whether the Log Path and System Path for the second storage group also point to the D: (which does not exist) 3. If the Second Storage group has only the Public Folder database, I suggest you move the current transaction log files and checkpoint to another folder.
