Delete User Mailbox - Exchange 2003
I have several users who I've deleted from Active Directory. Their mailboxes apparently do not automatically get deleted from Exchange when you delete the user. When I rt. click the user's mailbox in Exchange, everything is grayed out. How can I delete the
mailbox after the user has been deleted?
Thanks,
Scott

Don't. Just leave it all alone. There is "Deleted Mailbox Retention" which is there to protect you from yourself. After a certain number of days the mailboxes will automatically purge.

You can also change the deletion count retention to 1 /2 days and wait for the scheduled maintenance to complete which would purge the mailboxes

Good to know. Thanks.
If I did want to manually delete the mailbox, is there a way to do it?
Thanks,
Scott

See the article Mark linked.
Run the Cleanup Agent, then select Purge for the mailbox.

Thanks.
Also, where is the setting for how often deleted mailboxes get removed?
