Delete publicFolder objects?
I have upgraded to Exchange 2010 SP1 from 2007 and have no need for any public folders anymore. I have followed the steps outlined by TechNet to remove the last Public Folder db, but in ADSIEdit I still have a long list of publicFolder objects (Default naming context, DC=contoso,DC=com, CN=Microsoft Exchange System Objects). Is it safe to delete all these objects since I no longer have any public folders? Many of these objects were obviously created by one or many versions of Exchange since we have upgraded from 2003->2007->2010. Thanks

Those represent the mail-enabled pf objects in AD. If your public folders are gone, then yes you can remove them. Dont delete the container, just the items within and very important - Do not delete any Exchange security groups (Exchange Install Domain Servers )or UM objects in that container either!

Hi, You can delete the public folder entry in MESO. Please ensure that you do not have outlook 2003 users in the network. Xiu
