Deleted mailbox doesn't show up in disconnected mailboxes
Hi,
I've deleted a mailbox but for some reason this mailbox doesn't appear in the disconnected mailbox leaf on Exchange 2007. Then I deleted another mailbox and this one does appear fine under disconnected mailbox. Any idea why that particular mailbox doesn't show up under disconnected mailboxes ?

Are these mailboxes on the same Exchange server? Can you run the Clean-MailboxDatabase cmdlet against that database?

Hi,
it appears that after a while the mailbox did appear under the disconnected mailbox. For some reason it took a while before the mailbox was marked as such. Strange because the mailbox I disconnected after the first one appeared immediately.

Do you by any chance delete from Active directory users and computers ? I've tried that and it won't work. If you delete user from Exchange console or powershell then its OK. Also for creating users you must use Exchange console or suffer legacy mailbox problem and powershell command to add additional atributes to mailbox.

I have found that sometimes you have to run the cleanup agent to get them to show correctly. In ESM navigate to the store the mailbox was on, clicking down to the Mailboxes level. Right Click should give you the option to run cleanup agent.

The above is spot on.
From a shell point of view if you have ran the 'remove-mailbox' or 'disable-mailbox' you will be able to retrieve the disconnected mailbox for up to 30 days.
run the 'clean-mailboxdatabase' command to force the disconnected boxes to show up.
cheers
