What is the best practice to deploy Ms exchange server 2010 in a Virtual environment taking into consideration the following:

1- Security ( frontend/backend design) which servers needs to be published in DMZ.
2- High availability.
3- Number of servers needed Client/Database.
4- Minimum roles to install.
5- Cost.

its not a simple question :)
1; edge need to install dmz and cas roles need publishing if need owa, eas, and Outlook Anywhere
2; need know needed SLA, how many branch office, and so...
3; ..
4; need schema and ent admin5l exch server licence, os licence, and other backup
