Deploying .dotx files to domain for Word 2013

Hello,

So I know that we can. I'm just not able to get it to work correctly, and want to go back to the drawing board.

I would like to deploy 3 .dotx to every user so they can open new and see the templates in the list.

We also have Office 365, and AD so what ever way would take the least amount of administrative overhead.

Thank you

They are not going to see them directly in the list using File > New without a lot of overhead. That shows MS online templates with non-obvious buttons to local templates.

Look into putting them in your Workgroup Templates folder. That folder can be updated locally as a part of the user login.

For how this works with File New look at the Word 2013 sections of File New Variations in the Versions of Word. Files in the Workgroup Templates folder can show up using File New or using the classic FileNew d

Thank you Charles for the replay.

I put the files into the \\<doamin controller>\netlogon\Office Templates, and then a GPO Users Configuration --> Policies --> Administrative Templates --> Microsoft Office 2013 or Microsoft Office 2010 --> Shared paths --> Workgroup template path to point to the folder.

So far so good. I have not seen any performance problems. The better part is that if (when) the marketing department wants to push a PowerPoint or Excel template it will work for that also.
