Hello All, Ineed to deploy a MSX2007 server in an already existing MSX2003 Organisation. The plan is to promote the new Server (MSX'07)as the new DC gradually (domain controller) after joining it in the old domain.(Currently,theres just one domain contained in a forest). I went through the deployment manuals for the basic get to know of how to deploy. But my doubts are: 1.once I finish with the Active Directory preparation,then how would I get to know as to which MSX server is acting as the DC. 2.When do i need to promote the new server as the DC ? (like after the AD preparation,or at some other instance.) Regards, C_R

Hi, First thing, it would be better not to put Exchange on the DC. Second thing don't every DCPromo an Exchange server. 1. Both DCs will act together. Make them both Global Catalog servers 2. Promote the new DC before you do anything with Exchange. Cheers Nathan
