Deploying Pop 3 on Exchange Server 2003
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for deploying a Pop3 service?

its pretty straight forward and enabled by default so it may be working already. THe only caveat is on the client end. You need to decide if you want POP clients to 'leave messages on server' so they are backed up with exchange backups or not.

I would also mention that even if you 'Leave messages on Server', you will never get their sent items, since POP3 is inbox only.
Had a lot of people a long time ago want to use POP3, and then complain when I could not restore their sent items for them.
I would suggest to think about other protocols instead of POP3. If it is bandwidth you are concerned about, maybe offline MAPI?
