Deploying Server Roles - Help
Hi, I intend to deploy in my environment Exchange Servers 2007 but I need som ideas so if anyone can hlep me I appreciate: - I have 3 AD sites, in the main office I will put the Hub+CAS+Mailbox Server and I want to know If I can put in other 2 sites 2 Hub Transport servers to balance the flow of messages. I will use only one CAS server, is it ok that or it is better plus one? I konw that the answer depends on several factors but I have 1000 users in the main office, 100 in each other offices. Thanks for while. Regards. Luiz

Hi I would create a CCR cluster in main site and then NLB on two other servers that run's HUB/CAS. What about the connections to the other sites? No plans for Exchange 2010? Hi Jonas, for now, Exchange 2010 is a problem because the CALs that was bought so we have to use Exchange 2007. So, in the other server must I install CAS too? Just using HUB in each site is not recommended? I have a link of 1 MBps among the sites and the main office. Thanks Jonas. Best Regards. Luiz

Hi Ahh ok.. No, you don't must install on both that's just my suggestion so you got a load balancing solution. You don't need to install HUB server in each site. You only need to install HUB server in each site if you are going to install MBX in each site. But you need at least one CAS server and one HUB server. These roles can be on the same server if you want. Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog
