Its never recommended and supported to run DCPROMO on exchange server. There can beissues which can remove the basic functionalities of the exchange.

Somme additionnal information : The server is in Windows 2000 and exchange server also I found an article, who's talking about depromoting a server Witch is DC and Exchange, but they talking about Windows server 2003, and in this version, the article says it's not recommande to do this. This recommandation is it ok in my case, with Windows 2000 server plus DC and exchange 2000 server ? Best Regards Romain

The recommendation is to never run Exchange and a DC on the same box, for any version.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

If you have an issue and call for Support they will not be able to support you with the DC/Exchange on the same box configuration. That may not be desirable.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com
