Device Certificates for Android and iOS

Hello,

I am interested in deploying certificates to my end user Android and iOS devices to authenticate users.  I found this TechNet Blog for Exchange 2010 but I haven't been able to find a similar one for Exchange 2013 (http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2012/11/28/configure-certificate-based-authentication-for-exchange-activesync.aspx).

Couple of questions:

- Does anyone know where the 2013 documentation is?  I assume that 2013 is largely the same but there might be a couple of differences.

- Does anyone know of any troubleshooting documents for when this doesn't work? Email is working on an iPad but not an HTC or Samsung phone.

- Does anyone know how to tell if the iOS device is using the certificate to authenticate or the user/pass? Apparently even when using certificates users still must enter their user/pass the first time...

Thanks,

Matt

Hi,

This blog also related to Exchange 2013, Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 5 and later supports certificate-based authentication with ActiveSync.

Here's an blog about troubleshooting ActiceSync: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2012/01/31/a-script-to-troubleshoot-issues-with-exchange-activesync.aspx

Since this issue is related to ActiveSync, I recommend contact Exchange Mobility and ActiveSync Team so that you can get more professional suggestion, for your convenience: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/home?forum=exchangesvrmobilitylegacy

Thanks
