You want to stop him sending mails from that email address, right? In that case set "Prohobit Send at (KB)" to 0 temporary in User Properties -> Exchange General -> Storage Limits so he will not be able to send mail from his account.
But keep in mind that this change may take 2 hours to become effective due to information store cache so set the limit and ask user to login after 2 hrs...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

You an set receive mail restriction also but without NDR and Forwarding, which is not possible in Exchange 2003.
However another workaround is, you can assign primary smtp address temporary to another temporary mailbox so all mails will be delivered to there but which is similar to forwarding option...
In Exchange 2007, you can be easily set with transport rules to silently drop the messages being sent by/received for a user and disable/delete transport rule after work completes...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
