Disable Out of Office reply for alternate recipient
Hi there, I need some help with Exchange 2007. I have setup mail forwarding in EMC, so that whatever email sent to A will also received by B. Now, when B turn on the Out of Office reply, senders of A will also received B's OOO reply. How do I configure so that senders of A will not receive B's OOO reply? I tried to add rule (checked "Sent directly to me" box ) in Outlook but it didn't work. Thanks.

Why not create a transport rule to send a copy of the message to B instead of forwarding from the A account?

Thanks for the advice, I've just tried it. But the sender still received OOO reply. Maybe the new rule takes time to "propagate"?

Hi, Along with transport rule to copy to B, you should also disable mail forwarder to A. Thanks. Vishal Ramnani MCITP - Exchange 2007, MCSE Messaging, MCTS - Win 2008 Config

Hi,Base on my research, I recommend you to use journaling rule to record all the emails that sent by A,and then set "send journal reports to email address" to B. How to Create a New Journal Rulehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124723(EXCHG.80).aspx <!---->Regards,Xiu

I'm afraid that's not what I'm looking for?

You may need to rethink the forwarding or copying part and simply give delegate access to B to the inbox of A.

Sure. Instead of forwarding the incoming mail from A to B, have A give delegate access to B for the inbox as described here:http://www2.essex.ac.uk/cs/services/email/delegate.htmThat way B simply looks in A inbox for emails.

Just create another transport rule to block the OOO return emails from B to that sender. You can filter it with subject and sender.
