Disabling Public Folder Referrals Across Routing Group Connector is not working
Hi Everyone My Exchange Organisation coexists with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003. I will be in a coexistent state for probably the next 12 months. My issue relates to public folder referrals. I have one Exchange 2003 public folder server for legacy reasons and four Exchange 2007 mailbox servers dedicated to Public Folder databases. All the Public folder content exists on the Exchange 2003 server. The content is also replicated to the four Exchange 2007 public folder servers, with 25% of the content on server 1, 25% of the content on server 2, 25% of the content on server 3 and lastly 25% of the content on server 4. Therefore al the content exists at each end of the Routing Group Connector between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. My issue is that I have disabled public folder referrals on the routing group connector, but when a user with a Mailbox located on the Exchange 2007 server accesses content that does not exist on the Default Public Folder Store, the content is retreieved across the routing group connector from the Exchange 2003 public folder server. This is not what I want, I would like all public folder content, for users with Exchange 2007 mailboxes, to be retreived from the Exchange 2007 public folder servers. So my question is why when I have disabled public folder referrals on the routing group connector is content being retrived across the connector? What do I need to do to fix this? Regards Richard

Hi, For this issue, you can use set-PublicFolderDatabase -UseCustomReferralServerList -CustomReferralServerList to specify the Public Folder replica of the location that you use. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629643.aspx Thanks AllenAllen Song
