Hi All, We have Cluster mailbox server with 1 active and 1 passive node. We also have 1 SCR with exchange 2007 server with mailbox, CAS and HUB server role. We want to test Disaster recovery in our enviornment. We already consider a situation where we have one database corrupted in CCR and we failover that database in SCR site. Now we want to test the DR with a situtaiton where we lost both the nodes in CCR and we want to failover everything on SCR. Thanks.

Hi All, We have alrady tested a scenario where we have lost one paritcular datbase on both Active and passive node in CCR. And it was succesful. Now we want to test another secenario where we consider that our active and passive node are shutdown or down due to some disaster and we want to run everything from our SCR site. Is this possible? Yes, it can be done. But, If the SCR source is a clustered mailbox server and the SCR target is a standalone mailbox server instead of a standby cluster, the full server recovery process takes longer. The reason for this is that a standalone Mailbox server has its own Mailbox server identity which must first be removed (by uninstalling Exchange) so that Setup /RecoverCMS can be run ----------Refer to <Activating Standby Continuous Replication Targets> So, we need extra steps in your situation: 1. Uninstall all Exchange roles from the SCR target, but leave the Exchange Management Tools installed. This will remove the existing Exchange server object from AD, and will allow you to then proceed with the site recovery steps Notes: That in order to have a functioning server in the DR site, make sure there is another exchange server that hosts the CAS and Hub Transport roles 2. Create a new one-node cluster using the server. Install Exchange 2007 SP1 and choose to install the Passive Mailbox role only. This will prepare the server so that you can recover the CMS 3.
