Disconnect user from Exchange 2007
A user on exchange was disconnected or disabled - I saw that user listed in the disconnected mailbox on Exchange. I re-connected the mailbox to the user's original AD account which I was told was disabled. Problem is I can send a test email
to the account without a bounce back but I dont see the mailbox or the AD account in Exchange management console or ADUC. Any ideas?

You don't use ADUC for managing Exchange enabled objects in Exchange 2007, so seeing nothing in ADUC is a red herring.
As for EMC, you should see something. Have you queried using EMS? Are you sure you didn't create a mail enabled user, rather than a mailbox enabled user?

You cannot use ADUC to view Exchange 2007 properties of a user.
The user account in question must be enabled when you re-connect the mailbox to it. Otherwise, the re-connection will fail.
Try EMS with the command below:
get-mailbox -identity "Tom Smith" |fl
or
get-mailbox -identity tom.smith@contoso.com |fl
see if you can find the mailbox, may also try create a filter in EMC.
If still cannot find the mailbox, it is likely something wrong with your AD replication.

Hi,

The mailbox should appear in Recipient Confituraion->Mailbox The name of mailbox will be changed to what you provide when you process a reconnection.
AD account is in its original OU.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
