Distribution Group Changes Revert
Hi All - We have 1 exchange 2007 and 1 exchange 2010 server. Sometimes when we change an employee's distribution group membership the change reverts. For example, an employee is promoted and is removed from a Staff distribution list and
added to a Seniors distriubtion list. After a short while the employee will notice they are no longer getting emails sent out to the Seniors list and ask us what happened. We go to check the membership and find they are not in the Seniors
group and are back in the Staff group. Could this be a sync issue either between the two exchange servers or possibly between AD and Exchange? Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Maintenance of Group Membership has nothing to do with Exchange. The information doesn't "sync" or anything like that. It is all stored inside AD.
This sounds like classic poor replication, and the change is being replicated back over the changed list. That will be an AD issue, rather than Exchange.

I also think it is an AD issue. Because Exchange only read these information from AD database.
As we know, an AD has five roles, and the
Infrastructure Master responsible for update DN.
So I think it may be caused by Infrastructure Master.
There are many other reasons, such as the version of object.,It happens in large forest environment offen.
I suggest you force AD replication
from the special server after you change the goroup.
