Distribution Group email account
I created a distribution group, which in turn creates a email account (ex. help@company.com)which distributes incoming email to the appropriate group members. Is it possible for one user to manage the email account and be able to originate or reply to emails that come to that email accounthelp@company.com? Or do I have to create user named help (for example) and create a mailbox? The distribution group is an established account that we have been using for a while and I assume if I have to create a user account, I would have to delete this account first and setup rules to forward it to the appropriate persons.

Well, the DL or the distribution group is only an alias not a mailbox, so when the email been sent to a DL the email will be recieved by all members of the DL sine DL does not have a mailbox to store that email, and instead the emails will be forwarded to all DL members and stores this email into the DL member's mailbox. so you can't let any member of the DL to control these emails, cause these emails are not stored on DL. the solution is that: create a user mailbox, as you mentioned , call it Help or whatever. then configure this mailbox to forward all the emails to this DL. by this you have all emails stored on Help mailbox , and at the same time forwarded to your DL please let me know if the above steps helped you in solving your problem.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Unfortunately, they have been using that email address for quite a while so I will have to use that one forthe user mailbox and change the DLemail address. Thanks for the help!
