Distribution Groups for Exchange 2007
Hello everyone. I would like to ask a questions here as i am still a noob in administering the Exchange Server 2007 functionality. Here is the things. I would like to set this setting where Users can only see distribution group that they belong too. Can it be done by Exchange 2007. Current environment can see other distribution list and they might send any inappropriate advertisement using this capability. Thanks.

I would also be interested to know whether this is possible. I have a number of lists which have restricted rights (only certain users can send to them). Would be nice if Outlook Address Book recognised this and at least greyed them out.

Click OK6. click Advanced to open Advanced Security Settings7. Select the Permissions tab8. Select the user or group if not already selected9. Click Edit to open the Permissions Entry properties for the selected user/group10. Select Properties tab11. Click on the "Deny" checkbox for the Read Members property so it is checked. This cmdlet will also help Add-ADPermission "Distribution Group Name" -user "User or Security Group Name" -Deny -AccessRights ReadProperty -Properties Member

Hi Ezwadi
You are very considerate and thoughtful for the management of your company. To manage your company more better and better, it ‘s the best way to manage your employees and policies. The technical measure is the last choice.
In management side, you can make some rules and agreements to constraint the users and advertisements.
As far as I know , it’s a pity that hiding distribution group membership does not supported in Exchange 2007 so far. Please refer to the following article:

I’m looking forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Richard.
