Distribution list members added via Outlook do not show up in Outlook for a long time
Hello Exchange Server community- We're running Exchange 2007 Enterprise SP3. End users have Outlook 2010. An Outlook user with the "Manager can update membership list" check box set on the distribution group in Active Directory adds a mailbox to the distribution group using the Outlook client- but their change is not immediately reflected in the group's membership in their Cached Exchange Mode client's copy of the Offline Address Book. Wondering if this is a bug or if we're doing something wrong? Thanks

What happens in OWA? Did you check in Outlook Online Mode? It should work fine, just taking time to update the OAB, well you can force your outlook to update the OAB.Gulab Prasad, My Blog | Z-Hire Employee Provisioning App

Changes to the Address Book can take up to 48 hours to be reflected in all clients in cached mode. Nothing you can do about that. This is because the OAB is only generated once every 24 hours by default, which can be changed or forced to run. However the OAB files are only downloaded to the Outlook client automatically once every 24 hours or when Outlook is restarted, which you cannot change. You can also force a download. Therefore it isn't a bug, it isn't something you have done wrong, it is by design. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.
