Distribution lists not moving from AD to Global Address List
I created a distribution group in AD in the Recipients container. I add users to the group and it has an email address. I run rebuild OAB and it completes without errors. I perform a send/receive on an Outlook 2003 cached mode client and do not see the new entries in the address book. I do not see the entries in an Outlook 2003 client that is not using cached mode either. In ESM, I go to the Default Address List and select Properties, and Prieview for the Filter rule, I do not see the group in the preview either. Our DC is a Windows 2003 SP2 server. Our Exchange is on a Windows 2003 SP2 server and it is at SP2. There are existing groups in the Recipients container that are showing up int he global address book. How can I get the new entries to show up in our address book.

Are you sure that the group has been stamped by the Recipient Update Service? Does it have all the Exchange properties like Alias and E-Mail Addresses?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Please try to follow the steps in article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821904 to create a test distribution group. After that, please try to update the "Recipient Update Services" from Exchange System Manager. If the problem still persists, then I recommend you to check the issue with OWA. If we still has prolbem with OWA, then you can follow the steps below to take a LDP dump. After that, please send them to me . Note: The Ldp GUI tool is included when you install Windows Server Support Tools. 1. Double click on LDP.exe 2. Select Connection from the menu and select Connect from the drop down. 3. Server dialog>Enter the Domain Controller and click OK. 4. Select Connection from the menu and select Bind from the drop down. 5. If logged on as an Administrator leave credentials blank and click OK out otherwise enter Administrator credentials. 6. From the menu select View and from the drop down select Tree. 7. Leave the Base DN blank and click OK. 8. Expand the DC from the left frame. 9. Double click on the CN (common name) = Users 10. Select the appropriate distribution group we need to take an LDP dump of. 11. Click Ctrl + N to clear out existing data. 12. Click off user and then click back to the user to refresh new data. 13. From the menu select Connection and then select Save As from the drop down menu. Regards, Xiu

Please try to follow the steps in article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821904 to create a test distribution group. This is the answer. We were creating them on the DC or a Win 7 client with the AD tools, so we didn't see the email options. I created a test group on Exchange and was able to get the email option. Thanks!
