Domain rename and exchange
Hello,I want to perform a domain rename operation in a domain with 3 DCs 2 of them are running Windows 2003 and one running Windows 2008.There is an exchange 2000 sp3 server in the domain. Because Exchange 2000 is not supported in the domain rename operation, I'm thinking about upgrading the Exchange 2000 sp3 server to Exchange 2003 SP1.When all is ready, I'll perform the domain rename with the "rendom.exe", "gpfixup.exe"and "xdr-fixup.exe" tools.Of course, I'll set up a lab where I'll try the operation.Did anyone had the same situation? Will the upgraded Exchange server likely to cause problems in the domain rename operation? Many thanks.

Hi Eloy,Yes thats right, domain rename is not supported if Exchange 2000/5.5 isexists in the environment and you need to upgrade it to Exchange 2003. It shouldn't be a problem since it is minimum requirement and you must upgrade the Exchange to 2003. Just be sure that Exchange is not installed on DC since it is not supported.
