Duplicate LegacyExchangeDN - how to fix?
Hi,We are running Exchange Server 2003 SP2.I just found out that we have a couple of mail-enabled Security Groups that have duplicate LegacyExchangeDN. How does this happen to existing groups? How do I fix it?Thanks in advance!/Michael

Hi Michael,I don't know how does it happend. It can be a faulty 3d party application. You can just change it with the adsiedit to unique values.Regards,Zoltnhttp://www.clamagent.org - Free Antivirus for Exchange

Hi Michael,I really don't know but looking around the internet forums I've seen on several places that it is the solution and doesn't generate much trouble. Here are two links:http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarchives/Exchangeadmin/Sep2005/post24141516.asphttp://www.archivum.info/microsoft.public.exchange.admin/2005-08/msg02338.htmlRegards,Zoltnhttp://www.clamagent.org - Free Antivirus for Exchange

Actually it seems that they went with another solution and only ask if they could have just changed the value - no one confirms that they could.I am very interested i doing this the right way./Michael

Groenbech,Yes, it is a supported way to change the LegacyExchangeDN if they are causing any problems just because they are duplication of each others. You may also want to use ADMODIFY to bulk edit the attributes on all users if you have numerous users with duplicate LegacyExchangeDN.MMilind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com
