E2010 Failover on the Management Console
Hi experts,
When you do the failover on the E2010 (activate database on other DAG member) there is this small drop down menu. By default there is "none", but can that be override somehow? So that all admins have e.g. "lossless" by default.

Learn to use PowerShell. It's much better for this kind of thing.
Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase -Identity DB01 -ActivateOnServer SERVER_NAME

Exchange admins can learn it, but some times the failover needs to be done by server admins, and I have seen that it is 100 times easier for them to use GUI (plus other simple tasks). You cannot expect that everyone who is using the computer needs to understand
the PowerShell.

Actually PowerShell is perfect for server admins. You can create scripts to do the exact steps you want the admins to do and document in their run books exactly which one to use for the exact situation. And it's a lot easier to document a command
than it is to create a whole slew of screen dumps of GUIs and to tell which box to click, which field to enter, etc.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
