E2K7 - Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter - Error accessing message tracking log
Dear all, when trying to access Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter in order to track down an 5.0.0 error I receive the following error message: "Error accessing message tracking log An exception occurred while executing the command 'get-MessageTrackingLog' to query the message tracking logs on server serv-demxhub, Exception message: Unexpected error [0x790F7F99] while executing command 'get-MessageTrackingLog -Server serv-demxhub -Start "04/30/2010 09:41:05" -EventID FAIL | where {$_.RecipientStatus -match "5.0.0"}'." What went wrong? Did I miss some configuration steps prior to running the Mail Flow Troublshooter? Thanks Alex

Hi, Have you tried restart Exchange Management console? Try to check if the Message Tracking is enabled on your exchange hub transport server or edge server: Step 1: ========= 1.Open the Exchange Management Console. Perform one of the following steps: On a computer that has the Edge Transport server role installed, select Edge Transport, and then in the action pane, click the Properties link that is directly under the server name. On a computer that has the Hub Transport server role installed, in the console tree, expand Server Configuration, and select Hub Transport. In the action pane, click the Properties link that is directly under the server name. 2.In the Properties page, click the Log Settings tab. 3.In the Message tracking log section, select Enable message tracking log to enable message tracking. 4.Go the log location and manually open the log files to check if you have permission to read these logs. Step 2: Run the get-MessageTrackingLog in exchange shell ============================= Open exchange shell and then type in: get-MessageTrackingLog -Server serv-demxhub -Start "04/30/2010 09:41:05" -EventID FAIL | where {$_.RecipientStatus -match "5.0.0"} What’s result? Step 3: Install exchange management tools on another computer that joined in your domain and see if Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter works.
