E2k3 - Mobile device security settings
Hello,
we want to modify the global device scurity settings in e2k3. 2 questions:
1. How long does it take for the new settings to be applied?
2. We are making the password settings stricter - what will happen to users whose current passwords do not match the new criteria?
Thanks

Isnt there an option under security settings called "Refresh settings on the device (hours)" ?

Sorry - I'm talking about the settings in ESM | Global Settings | Mobile Services | Properties | Device Security...
We are changing some of these settings - ie requiring passwords to have both letters & numbers.
Just wondering how the mobile devices will react (and how long it will take) to see the effect.
Thanks!

The mobile device should inform the user that the server wants to
enforce some policies. It should happen the next time the device
connects to the server.

Hi sneaky hamster,
Thanks for your update. Rich is correct, the new policy will be applied the next time the device is connected. Sometimes you might need to connect
double times or reboot the mobile device. If this issue occurs, collect the device log before and after there is a change for further analysis.

What security settings do you mean? and how did you deploy the change?
Generally, we will run IISreset /nofoce if there is any change on the virtual directory or run
gpupdate if it is related to Group Policy.
Hope it is helpful.
