E2k7 move mailbox permissions
Is there a workaround for a helpdesk having the ability to move mailboxes without having the "Exchange Server Administrator" role ? It seems an excessive permission for a helpdesk to have for a basic helpdesk function.

Can you make your Help Desk a member of the Exchange recipient administrator's group? I could have sworn that included the ability to move mailboxes without being an admin.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Agree with Jim
Alternatively you can choose a complex workaround.
Create a powershell script which takes the user id and database name from CSV file to move the mailboxes.
Create a schedule task for this script to run with admin credential and credential will be saved in schedule task. Givefull permission on CSV file to helpdesk users to modifyit as per their requirement but read only permission on script so they can not change it.
Now ask helpdesk users to put users name and database names into CSV file to move mailbox accordingly then right click on schedule task and run it, this will execute the move-mailbox command under admin credential and helpdesk person doesnt have ability to perform any othertaskunder this mechanism
