EDB Access error
Even with the hardware diagnostics giving the greenlight, I would still be suspicious of an issue with the storage system, particularly if the server is getting old.
Do ensure it has the latest firmware and drivers for the storage system, including the RAID card.

My first response still stands - it could just be the age of the machine.
I had a client with an IBM server that went through three upgrades. Started giving similar errors in the event viewer, all tests passed, then one morning it had failed. I don't trust hardware tests to tell me everything is ok, only to tell me there is an
issue.

Hi Simon
Yes it has all the latest firmware and drivers for the storage system we did that straight away as soon as the error was produced. We have also update the firmware and drivers of the server from IBM so the frimware and drivers for the storage system and
the server are fully up to date.
Thanks
Ketan

Hi
I have an EDB access error message created in the event viewer. I am running Windows server 2003 SBS. The exact error message created is:
Information Store (6272) First Storage Group: A request to write to the file "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb" at offset 9992351744 (0x0000000253973000) for 4096 (0x00001000) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (912 seconds) to
be serviced by the OS. In addition, 5 other I/O requests to this file have also taken an abnormally long time to be serviced since the last message regarding this problem was posted 68 seconds ago. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact
your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.
I have contacted IBM and done the diagnostics testing with them for the hardware side as it an IBM system X server and the test on the hardware side was all successful and no fails.
