EMS takes a long time to open
I just installed an Exchange 2007 SP1 UR9 CCR cluster. On node1, opening the EMS takes about 2 minutes. Onnode2, it opens within seconds. I have not yet moved any mailboxes or other resources to these nodes - they are a fresh install. The delay does not change based on whether node1 is active or passive. When opening the EMC, it hangs and I get the "MMC is not responding" dialoge box. The EMC eventually appears to work appropriately after it successfully loads.During install, I had to restart the setup process a couple times due to some errors with cms computername availability on the domain controllerand I seem to recall that the setup process actually "failed" during the management tool install phase. But I also recall it completing successfully after restarting setup. Therefore, I am inclined to believe that there is something wrong with the management tools installation.I've looked for a way to re-install the management tools, but have not found one. Can anyone assist with a way to troubleshoot why it takes so long to open EMS - or a way to uninstall/reinstall just the management tools without reinstalling the entire cluster node? Thanks!

Exchange 2007 sp2 has great improvement over opening the EMS. you should definitely opt for it. and also make sure you have set the proper scope under recipient configuration . or else it has to query the entire AD and then pull the data and display it to you.

We plan on upgrading to SP2 after the first of the year. We were not able to test SP2 in the lab in time for deployment into production.
