ESEUTIL replay logfiles stops with error -515
I am restornig my exchange server 2007, but only have a portion of the old transaction logfiles that I could recover. When I execute ESEUTIL /R E00 /A it starts replaying the logfiles, but since I only have a portion it cannot complete. I am missing some files at the end, but I only need to restore untill the date of the last logfile I have. If I execute ESEUTIL /ML E00.LOG it gives me the following information: Last Lgpos: (0xdd6d,8,30)However, the last logfile I have is: E00000050E2.logSo it starts replaying the files, but when it reaches E00000050E3.log it gives me the following error: Operation terminated with error -515 (JET_errInvalidLogSequence, Timestamp in next log does not match expected) after 175.828 seconds. Is there any way to resolve this. The only thing I need from the logfiles are some very important emails. Maybe there is another way to recover them? I know that if you open the files in e.g. Notepad, you can read the content of the emails. Maybe there is some way to export them from the logfile itself? Maybe there is a way to adjust the logfile so that the Last Lgpos: (0xdd6d,8,30) can be changed to Last Lgpos: (0x50e2,8,30)?I hope there is a way to recover the emails? Thanks

Hi, Looks like you are attempting to restore from an Offline Backup. If I am off base, please let me know. Regarding the error Timestamp in next log does not match expected, you can refer to following thread for more detailed information: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvravailabilityandisasterrecovery/thread/5555f9a9-25d7-4d2e-be43-5abae4cfa992 Based on current situation, I think you can use following method to restore database if you only required message prior to E00000050E2.log. 1. Move all the logs from E00000050E3.log to E00.log and Checkpoint file to another directory, 2. Rename the E00000050E2.log to E00.log 3. Attempt to run eseutil /r command again to restore database. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
