EXCDO Errors in Exch2k7
On my Exch2k7 server I am getting the following errors with one of my users.
Event ID 8199
Calendaring agent failed in message save notification with error 0x80040219 on user@co.com: /Calendar/4359101.eml
and
Event ID 8260
An attempt was made to save an appointment with the subject "Calendar Item" to mailbox user@co.com. The duration of the appointment was too large, so it was not saved.
I haven't found any appt in his calendar that is too large. Or should it be too long?
Thanks!

Hi,
First please try to disable the AV software service.
Besides, please apply the latest update for Exchange 2007 server or Exchange 2003.
Below knowledge base article should be helpful to you:
Event ID: 8206 occurs when a MAPI-based application modifies calendar items in Exchange 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/KB/943721
Event IDs 8206, 8213, and 8199 are logged in an Exchange Server 2007 environment
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943371/
Users are unable to receive meeting requests and meeting updates in Exchange Server 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/556074
Event IDs 8239 and 8206 are logged when you schedule and then cancel a meeting in Communicator 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951870
Hope it helps.

Ehlo.
I have the same issue. Event IDs 8206, 8260, and 8199 are logged on my Mailbox server event viewer when a user sincronize his calendar items.
My server has Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Sp1 Update RollUp 3 installed andno AV installed on server (SCC Clustered)
The articles you say do not solve the issue.
The events are:

I am experiencing precisely the same symptoms as user 'gvgo' above me, however, on Exchange 2k3 SP2. Users on my network running into trouble are using Entourage 2008 version 12.1.5. The steps provided above such as disabling AV did not help; the other KB articles are relevant to Exchange 2007 only. Has anyone found a solution to this? One of my mac users is reporting calendar items that are not syncing / disappearing.

Open Component Services
Expand My Computer
Expand DCOM Config
Right click on {9DA0E0EA-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} and go to properties and select the properties tab.
Under Launch Permission check if any groups or users are been listed.
We should have no users or groups been listed.

I think we should concentrate to the user account been mentioned and then check for the calendar item on the user mailbox. Try removing and recreating the calendar. Check if the meeting request is a reoccuring meeting with no end dates. If so try to schedule the same with the end date.Thanks,V. Sujith Nair

Hi Mike, Were you able to find the answer to this one? I have the exact same issue, although it is specific to mac users on iPhones. Thanks for your time. -cj

I had the same error in Exch 2K7 with SP1 - "Calendaring agent failed in message save notification with error 0x80040219 on user@domain.com /Calendar/blah-yourappointmentnamehere.EML"The specific version we are running is Exchange 2007 Enterprise (64 bit of course) with SP1.What ended up being the problem was that 2 of my users had their Google Calendar appointments synched with Outlook / Exchange AND had reoccurring appointments setup in Google Calendar. These specific reoccurring appointments had NO Expiry Date (scheduled till the end of times :) ). From previous experience - Exchange doesn't like such reoccurring appointments.Resolution - after these reoccurring appointments were deleted from the Google Calendar of the specific user@domain.com or an expiry date was set in the Google Calendar for these - the synch from Google worked fine without causing the error and the events being recorded in Exchange 2K7 application log.It is possible that this error occurs when synching with other online calendars. Not sure if this is fixed with E2K7 SP2.

The Google calendar sync thing is definitely one to consider. I can confirm having the same issue with a user who uses calendar sync and has endless appointments.
I do not yet know if this actually solves our problem but the symptoms are optimal to suggest quoted explanation is what is going on. (interval of errors/interval of sync, fact there are endless appointments, google sync installed with specific user)
Edit:
This is indeed the problem. At the moment the work around is that i have instructed the user to specify an end date. Obviously this is a flawed workaround, but there does not seem to be an actual fix. I'm having a hard time finding channels with Google. Microsoft
understandably can't help in this situation as this seems to be a bug in Google's sync tool.
We are using 2003 by the way, across the big and famous internet i found several accounts of this problem sticking its head above the cowd, but it does not seem to be connected to a specific version of either Outlook or Exchange.
