Looks like MTA is lacking out of resources. the best thing would be here to failover to other node and check if you can bring MTA online. Donot copy and replace file until you have not done full testing with failover MTA is not required in pure EX2003 environment as it was used by legacy exchange servers. Hi There,I would start with ExBPA first of all to see if there are any problems that ExBPA can figure out for me. Then I would try with http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/917139. Milind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Okay. Thanks to let us know again. Can you check followings?Make sure the antivirus exclusions are set correctly. Check to see if the MTADATA folder has correct permissions on it.See if the MTA service has correct logon credentials. Should be a Local Service normally. Can you also increase the diagnostic logging on MTA service on affected Virtual Server? Paste the new logs here. Also, check to see if the IIS metabase is okay.Milind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Guys,I found the culprit, ACSE.TPL was missed from MTADATA 1. Confirm the MTADATA\RUN path from registry. HKEY-system-current control set-services-MSEXCHANGEMTA-parameters-MTA RUN directory2. Go to RUN directory and checkACSE.TPL that its there or missing.3. If it is not there there replaced this file from any other server, Make sure creation date should be 02/02/1998, Thoughbelow MS article says replaced *.TPL file from exchange compact disc but its only worked for me when i replaced ACSE with 02/02/1998.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/1543854. Restart the MTA resource.
