hi i am trying uninstall exchange server 2003 from the organisation. i have run the :\setup.exe /uninstall command but uninstalltion process could not process further to stopping the service "SMTPSvc" it is neighter processing further or not giving any error. Kindly help how to uninstall exchange 2003

You don't have to leave it to the uninstaller to stop the services. Therefore just stop all of the IIS and Exchange related services to begin with, then try to run the uninstaller again. Please look for error at exchange setup logs and event viewer - let us know what eror codes you are getting. Hi Umesh, Just try to restart SMTP service and start removing exchange thru setup (Be raady with a I386 binary for same version its installed). some time it may give error at remove of active synch but let it complete. Once it finish then wait for replication and see this server is removed from ESM (any other exchange 2003 console). if still you have issue to uninstall exchaange 2003 then you can proceed by manual remove using below article.
