Email's imported with no date
I had to import about 40gb of email from Mac Mail. A chunk of the email was imported without the proper date so the date was reset to the day the email was imported. If I look at the header in the email message I can see the actual date that the email was originally received. Does anyone know of a way I can fix the date of the email or at least be able to search and filter email messages by t

Hi,

Where were these emails imported to? To Outlook for Mac or Outlook for Windows?

If it's a problem happening with Outlook for Windows, please try adding a Received column in the View Settings. To do this, select the folder where these problematic emails are stored, click View tab > View Settings > Columns. Select Date/Time fields from "Select available columns from:" drop-down list. Highlight the Received column from the left pane and click Add. Click OK and check the issue again.

Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Office for Windows, if your question is related to Outlook for Mac, I'd recommend you post a new question in the following forum:

I've been attempting to import the data into Outlook 2013 in Windows. I've tired the received column, modified column and the sent column and they don't show the proper date either.

Thank you for the update. May I ask how you transfer the data from Mac Mail to Outlook 2013? As far as I know, there is no direct method to achieve the goal. Did you transfer the data via any third-party convertor?

I've tried two approaches. First I added the Exchange account and tried dragging email from the old account to the Exchange account. I found that emails were being imported with today's date. Then tried exporting email from Mac mail to an Mbox format and I used a third party program to convert the mbox file to a PST. When I open the PST I find that abut 3000 messages have today's date instead of the emails original date which is still listed in the email header.

I've been unable to find a way to export the email with the proper date or fix the emails once they have been exported.

From the description, it is more than likely that this issue is not an Outlook for Windows related issue. The received date has already been changed when dragging to an Exchange account in Mac mail or converting to a PST file via a third-party tool. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Office for Windows, and we don't have a Mac environment, I'd recommend you post a new question in a Mac mail forum to get further assistance.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
