Email Bakcup Policy
We do the full backup of Exchange every otherday but for our compliance/legal department I want to do the backup or want to keep the emails on the server even if they are deleted. by default I've setup the deleted items for 90 days from 30 days.
For compliance department they need 2 years emails atleast.
thanks

If you need any more days retention than Exchange can give you (not long) or your SAN can give you (say 90 days online snapshots plus x in a vault) you need to research a formal archiving product. If you have any kind of Compliance
requirement then you must use a non Microsoft solution. Enterprise Vault, NearPoint to name but two. If you really do have actual Compliance requirements you cannot do this on the cheap using Exchange alone because anyone with three brain cells can doctor
or remove a message at the drop of a hat in Exchange.
