Email Retention Compliance - Office 365

We are in the process of testing the Office 365 package.  One concern we have is how to retain the users email for retentioning and compliance.

Does anyone know If and How the Exchange Portion of 365 needs to be setup to Archive and Retain Users Email for 365+ days?
