We are going to be adding 1000 email accounts for an organization that is completely different than ours. My own organization has 450 emal accounts. These 1000 users will be dropping their existing email system(non-Exchange) and using OWA and Outlook Anywhere to connect to our CAS server. Their mailboxes will be hosted on our Exchange 2007 sp1 mailbox server. Their email account will be created in our Active Directory domain. I assume their email address will have the same FQDN as my organization. Is there any way they can have a different email address even if they are in the same domain? So if my domain is abc.com and my email address is jdoe@abc.com can one of these new users be jsmith@yxz.comin the same domain? I assume I have to create a new domain in the forest and that will give me the flexibility of having different email addresses for these 1000 new users.

Hi,There is no need to create seperate domain in the forest. I would say that you should add the second domain to accepted domains list. And then create the email address policy accordingly.Thanks.

More questions though...So I assume that I would need to host the other organization's MX record or have who ever is hosting their MX record to point the MX record to the IP address of our smtp gateway/edge server? Also in order to test this I assume I would have to register a test domain before I swicth over the MX record to point to our smtp gateway.
