Email delivered twice in different time
Hi,
I am using Exchange 2003. Encountered 2 issue;
1. email delivered twice in different time. For example, first email sent on 10 November 2011 and the second email delivered on 4 December 2012.
2. email delay delivered to recipient. For example, email sent on 9 November 2011 and recipient received on 5 December 2012.
Checked on the message tracking tools show;
1. only 1 email delivered which on 10 November 2011.
2. the email was delivered on 9 November.
Need your assistance and advice for the issue encountered.

You need to look at the headers to see where the delays occurred. It may well be something that is outside of your control.
I have also seen this happen where AV is scanning the Exchange directories when it shouldn't be, hangs on to the email file and then releases it when the server is rebooted.

You need to look at the headers to see where the delays occurred. It may well be something that is outside of your control.
I have also seen this happen where AV is scanning the Exchange directories when it shouldn't be, hangs on to the email file and then releases it when the server is rebooted.

Check the Message-ID headers in those messages and see if they're
identical. If they aren't then they're not the same message.
If the receiving server accepted the message from your server butyur
server never received the last status notification before the
receiving server dropped the connection, that would account for
multiple deliveries of the same message. The fact that the two
messages were delivered so far apart leads me to believe that the
hot-fix (below) would have at least cause a redelivery of the message
much sooner and possilby generated a DSN to the sender if the delay
was long enough.
