Email senind error 0x800ccc65
On outlook 2003 I have started getting the following message when performing the send/receive Task 'pop.supanet.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC65) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA' If I then try and send again Iget the following message: Task 'pop.supanet.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC65) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: Y03 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA It also states that I am trying to send an email (1 of 2 or 1 of 8 - this figure changes) although I have no emails to send. Any advice welcome

Have been experiencing exactly the same problem with my supanet account. Click on the link below and follow the advice given. It has just worked for me and has got rid of my sending message 1 of 1 when there is nothing to send.http://quomon.com/question_Outlook_email_error_503_valid_RCPT_command_precede_DATA_2991.aspx

Hi,Thanks for the response. I tried the link but for whatever reason it did not work. However, in desperatio, I added a new email account to her outlook account and deleted the original account and after about 5 send or receives the problem seemed to stop. So although it does now appear to be resolved ive no idea if it was something that would have eventuallty resolved itself, or whether creating the account resolved it. Weird.Anyway, thanks for your reply.

I had this error. I went back into the problematic email account and hit "more settings". then i went to the "outgoing server" tab and checked "my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication. That fixed it. If this is not checked, you can hit "test settings", and the test will run through OK, but you will still get this error when you actually go to use the account.
