Enable logging for zeroing database
We have a need to log that the exchange database was zeroed during the backup process. I've enabled the zeroing option but I don't have any events in the event viewer for proof.
Thanks,

Hello TW,
Have you restarted the Information Store service after changing the registry key? You will be able to see an event id 722 after that.

Hi,
Have you deployed CCR or LCR? Whats your Exchange version? Please understand with Exchange 2007 RTM and all previous versions, page zeroing operations happened during the streaming backup process. In addition since they occurred during the streaming backup process they were not a logged operation (e.g., page zeroing did not result in the generation of log files).
Additionally, after modifying the registry keys, as Amit mentioned, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service must be stopped and restarted for these changes to take effect.
Please also note that you have to enable the Online Maintenance Checksum task in order to enable the Online Page Zeroing task if youre using Exchange 2007 SP1.

We are using Exchange 2003 and I've enabled zeoring using the checkbox option, not buy modifing the registry. We are using a 3rd party backup solution (Backup Exec 11d), will it still report that zeroing was completed or do I need to do a Windows backup?
Thanks for the responses, I'll look into performing the registery modification.
