Enable user account for room mailbox?
I know Microsoft recommends that if a user account is linked/associated to a room mailbox, it should be disabled in AD.
I'm just wondering what issue(s) might I encounter if I enable the user account associated with the room mailbox(resource).
The reason why I'm asking is that recently we purchased several iPads to mount outside of our conference rooms and use them as calendars to let people know when the room is booked/in use. The problem is that the app that we are using needs to be setup
with the room's MS Exchange account (which is disabled at the moment) and the only way to get the app/iPad to sync with MS Exchange is to enable the user account (in AD) associate with the room's mailbox (which is not recommended by Microsoft).
If anyone can let me know potential issues if I enable the users account that would be great OR point me to another iPad app that can display room/resource calendar that would be good too.
Thank you,
Binh L.

Hi
Could you create another user with a mailbox and give that user delegate access to the room mailbox? Enabling the account will cause it not to function as a resource mailbox.

I would setup the Room Mailboxes and One MAilbox for the administration of the rooms.
Let say if you have 5 rooms then I would create 5 roommailboxes and in front of each office/meeting room I will logon to that iPAd as the user/delegate and from their I will open that particular room's calendar. Where Technology Meets Talent

I guess my question would be: How do I view a MS Exchange resource calendar on an iPad as a delegate?
