End-User Viewing Dynamic Distribution Group Memberships - ES2007
One thing that is being requested is to be able to view memberships of who is currently in a Dynamic Distribution Group. I understand that the membership is calculated when the e-mail is sent, but I'm at the point where a custom 3rd party solution would even work for us. Even with the caveat of knowing the the nature of a Dynamic group means that it could change at any moment would be fine with us, it's just so supervisors can see who they are e-mailing. It doesn't have to be through Outlook, it just has to be accessible to the end user. If anyone has any hint of a solution I would be grateful.

Does the solution in the last post work for you? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/zh/exchange2010/thread/39415e3a-af02-4dde-bcc4-cc7334233e55 Not sure if this works with all (or any) versions of Exchange and Outlook. Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

Hi Bigun, I'm afraid you have to add the supervisor to Exchange View-Only Administrators, then train them to view the members of DDG via EMC or EMS. Your users would need to have Exchange Permissions and the Exchange Tools (EMS/EMC) available to view the members of the Dyn Group(s). Propably not at all what you want, but there's no way to get this information in Outlook and/or OWA and I don't know of any third-party tools either. The very last post in the link (well, next to last since I've replied), looks like the Outlook client *CAN* view Dynamic Group Memberships, with the caveat that Exchange Server 2010 is being used. So at the very least we are looking at a server upgrade before this can happen. Can someone verify this actually works before I start suggesting this upgrade for this specific enhancement?

No, Outlook will not display Dynamic Group "Membership" no matter of the Exchange version used.Martina Miskovic
