Enterprise server 2003
Step by step:I have installed server 2003 enterprise edition SP2 and have completed all upgrades. My question pertains to the setup of a DNS server. Looking for step by step instructions to create a personal website on the server for my intranet. I've installed DNS on the server, created a forward lookup zone, but cannot access the webpage by the domain name, only the IP address. Our router is set up as a DHCP server distributing IP's to each of the two workstations and the server(running on a Dell poweredge 2400) and I have attempted to set up static IPs on the server itself.

Hi,Did you create a www A record with the servers IP address? This is an Exchange server deploy news group - this type of question is better asked in a windows server group.Leif

Thank you for the replyWhen I initially made this post, it was set to the General server forum. Not sure how it ended up under the Enterprise directory, but now that we're here. How would you create a www A record?

How would you create a www A record? Hi,Quoting the one mentioned above, you need to go to DNS server -> DC -> Forward lookup zones -> Domain name -> Right click -> New host (A) and type in the address for "personal website on the server for your intranet" and the IP address associated.Ref: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/168322- Nagesh
