Is there a native equation editor in Visio 2013 as there is in the various Office 2013 applications? If no - why not? If so - how to use it?

What is a native equations editor good for? So that the font will match the surrounding text in style, size and color and that these parameters will be as easy to modify as they are for regular text and using the same method (same buttons), and so that the equation will be easy to edit as a natural extension of the text without leaving the diagram.

Thank you, George, but you did not answer my question. You answered the question: "Is it possible to add an equation to a Visio diagram without an add-on?" I'm sure someone might be interested in this question, but not me. Moreover, not only did you not answer my question, you provided false information in writing: "The usage is same of the other Office suits, such as Word/Excel." This is evidently false. To give just one counter-example, try to change the font color (or any other aspect of the font) of an equation written in Word vs. an equation written in Visio the way that you suggested. Do you still find that the usage is same?

Hi George. Thanks for your reply. Yest, I still want to use equations without inserting an object. I'll appreciate your collecting my request and submitting the feedback. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of native equation support in Visio. In my opinion I had all reason to surmise upon purchasing this very pricey piece of software, that it will have the same equation support as do all the Office 2013 applications, as well as all the Office 2010 applications. Visio is aimed at professionals from math-heavy fields: computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians. The nerve that the Visio project managers had to release a new major version without streamlined equation support akin to that available in the Office suite shocks and angers me. I am a math teacher. I opted to buy the expensive Visio 2013 rather than using the free LibreOffice suite mainly due to what I assumed would be a streamlined, fully integrated equation support. I am deeply disappointed and outraged by the lack of it.
