Hi, when i like install the cleint acces roll on my windows 2003 R2 server, thet hold the mailbox and hub transport roll the installation stopped with error 1602. Got the same error teh other day. Removed UM role and then installed it again and then the installation was successfull

i had the same problem with cas installation it happend with the automated install and also with the manual install it looked like thers a problem with the msi perhaps ill try uninstalling all the roles and then reinstalling its on a virtual machine that is quite clean which is quite a suprise im sure that microsoft will find out that thers a bug about it

have you tried to copy the installation files to a local disk on the server before installing instead of running the setup over network /Lasse
