Error 438 Excel 2007

I have an issue where as soon as we open an Excel spreadsheet and enable the macros, it generates error 438 Object doesnt support this property or method.  I tried enabling macros on all sheets and then open it and same issue.  It's not a problem with the file because it opens fine on another PC.  It is not an issue with one users profile on the PC, as it does it with all users.  This is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  I found the following solution online:

Locate and delete MSForms.exd, and any other .exd files because Excel will re-create them. The files are typically found in the following folders.
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Form s
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\VBE
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Word8.0

none of these files exist on this system.  There was the forms folder, but deleting that didn't help.  I did have hidden and system files viewable.

I tried running a repair on MS office and then uninstalled/reinstalled and same issue both times.  I do not want to have to reinstall Windows for an Excel error.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  They would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

As far as I know, after installing MS14-082 (part of December 2014 Public Updates for Office) you might get the error run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method.

Hotfixes for this issue have been released in the March 2015 Updates for Office 2007, 2010 & 2013. Refer to the articles below for more details and any pre-requisites required.
