Error Installing 2007 Sp1 on Win2008 R2
I have installed Exchange 2007 Sp1 onto a Windows Server 2008 R2 server using the standard setup with most roles (no UC on the same server). When it attemtps to configure the Mailbox Role, it fails with the error:"An Error Occurred. The Error Code was 3221684229. The message was Access is Denied", right after it says something about "Configuring Legacy Mailbox...(it goes to fast to read it all)"The server seems to be up and running, I can create mailboxes on it, etc. However, I cannot access any of the mailboxes.Any Ideas what caused this or how to fix? Thanks.

Hi,
Windows 2008 R2 has not released yet, it is not supported operating system for exchange 2007 Sp1.Sometimes new operating system doesn't work with old products and we need to wait till release hot fix or services packs for their compatibility .I will recommend to use windows 2008 for exchange 2007 sp1 instead Windows 2008 R2. Any way you can try below task if you run Windows 2008 build 7100 When you install Exchange 2007 SP1 on Windows 2008 R2 (Build 7100) you may get error during Mail Box role installation. Right click on Setup.exe of exchange installation and select "Vista sp1" in Compatibility mode, then Mailbox role will install properly. Regards
