I always open the EMC by right-clicking.
To make matters more complicated and maybe this explains the behavior, this client has a very unusal setup here. They have 1 Forest with two domains. However, the domains are different trees. Each domain has one Exchange 2010 server. Not sure if there is
some permissions issue here, but the error is Access is Denied.MCITP Exchange 2010 | MCTS Exchange 2007 | MCITP Lync Server 2010 | MCTS Windows 2008 | MCSE 2003

The new Exchange 2010 server was not a member of the Exchange Trusted Subsytem group in AD. However, that group was a local admin on the server itself. Problem solved.MCITP Exchange 2010 | MCTS Exchange 2007 | MCITP Lync Server 2010 | MCTS Windows 2008 | MCSE 2003
