Error Uninstalling Exchange 2003
Hi, I currently have Exchange 2003 coexisting with Exchange 2007. I have migrated everything to the Exchange 2007 Server(Different box) and removed the connectors. Now I want to uninstall my Exchange 2003 but im getting the error message below: The component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services" cannot be assigned the action "Remove" because:- The sever is the only server with an instance of the "ALL PUBLIC FOLDERS" Heirarchy. If you want to remove this, you will need to create an instance of this heirarchy on one of the remaining servers in your organization.- This server is a Recipient Update Server for the domain "mydomain.local". You cannot uninstall this server until you select a different Recipient Update Server for this domain. Just to let you know, I am no longer using Public Folder and I did not create it on the Exchange 2007. Thanks in advanced!

I believe the only way to do what you want is to remove the public folder store and recipient update service using ADSI Edit, which is, of course, dangerous, so be very careful.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". Hi, Did you follow the Microsoft Technet document to prepare for removal and remove Exchange 2003? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx Or this one: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/removing-last-exchange-2003-server-exchange-2007-part1.htmlFrank Wang

I already moved the Offline Address List to the Exchange007. However, when I try to move the Public Calendar I do not see the Exchange 2007 on the list. Note that I will no longer use Public Calendar on my Exchange 2007, is there anything else important there that I need? I saw on Exchange 2007 Default Offline address book that it needs the public folder to support the Outlook 2003 or later(version 3). My mail concern is to remove the Public folder to move on in removing the Exchange 2003. Thanks for you help.
