Error running test-webservicesconnectivity Power Shell test
I seem to have an issue running test-webservicesconnectivity or even test-owaconnectivity, everytime I run commands like this I get an error stating that the below test user cannot be accessed. How long did you wait after running the PS1 script and running the test again? As there appears to be nothing wrong with what you have posted. If you multiple servers ensure that the account is where you expect it to be, and not located on another server that perhaps cannot be accessed. Hi, From the log you posted, we knew that you have created a new CAS test user without problems. Then please run test-webservicesconnectivity. Does the error persist? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks Gen Lin-MSFT

Gen, yes, the error persists each time I run test-webservicesconnectivity or test-owaconnectivity.

Sembee, I have waited days between running the script and the test. There are multiple servers.... I thought this script was supposed to create the accounts to test with.

The script should create the account and you should see it in the list in Recipients. Do you see a extest account in the list of recipients? If not, then search the domain to see if it was created but not mail enabled. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

I see a test account for: CAS_{63452f9472574727} CAS_{8b39e00f2e2746f6} CAS_{163d72b01a1545f1} but not one for: 'CAS_b0ffd4f63eae4d0a' So I wonder why new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 is not creating the account. Should I go in and manually create the account?

There are only 3 test accounts each having a mailbox on a different exchange server, but we have 5 exchange servers. Should each exchange server have a CAS account?

You shouldn't create the users manually, because the system creates them and more importantly maintains them. I believe that every Mailbox server should have a test user - that is how the Microsoft test tools in SCCM etc work. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Is there anyway to keep the tests from using this account since it is not valid? I wonder why new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 is not correcting/creating this account?

Everything is designed to use those accounts. Have you attempted to create a user for that specific server only? I notice in your original post you were using the get-mailboxserver then the script method. If you just run the script on the server itself, I think it will create the user on that server, or throw an error. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

I have tried to run the script on each server that is configured for mail, but I typically get either of the following: [PS] C:\Documents and Settings\Domain-Admin>new-testcasconnectivityuser.ps1 Please enter a temporary secure password for creating test users. For security , the password will be changed regularly and automatically by the system. Enter password: ********* You can um-enable the test user by running this command with the following optio nal parameters : [-UMDialPlan <dialplanname> -UMExtension <numDigitsInDialplan>] .Either None or Both must be present. or I get this [PS] C:\Documents and Settings\domain-Admin>new-testcasconnectivityuser.ps1 Please enter a temporary secure password for creating test users. For security, the password will be changed regularly and automatically by the system. Enter password: ********* Please either run the command on an Exchange Mailbox Server or pipe at least one mailbox server into this task. For example: get-mailboxServer | new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 [-UMDialPlan <dialplanname> -UMExtension <numDigitsInDialplan>] or get-mailboxServer foo | new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 [-UMDialPlan <dialplanname> -UMExtension <numDigitsInDialplan>] You can um-enable the test user by running this command with the following optional parameters : [-UMDialPlan <dialplanname> -UMExtension <numDigitsInDialplan>] .Either None or Both must be present.

The first message doesn't throw show an error. You need to run it on the mailbox server. The user account should be created. The second message is what I would expect you to get if you aren't running the script on a mailbox server. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

I get the first message even when I run it on a Mailbox server and the account is never created.

Are you seeing an error when you run it on a mailbox server? As no error has been posted. Or does it appear to have created? Do you have a database on that server that is dismounted or has been removed? Do you see the user in ADUC? If the script appears to create correctly but doesn't appear then that would point to a more serious problem, possibly with the domain. Nothing appears to be created. I have to run " get-mailboxServer | new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 " for it to run on most of the servers. No removed or dismounted DB's The user is not in ADUC. I see a test account for: CAS_{63452f9472574727} CAS_{8b39e00f2e2746f6} CAS_{163d72b01a1545f1} but not for this one that errors out: 'CAS_b0ffd4f63eae4d0a'
